General Job Site / Construction Laborer Needed!!

This opportunity includes working as a Laborer.

  1. Must have a valid driver’s license. No minimum education is required. The average wage is $17/hr to $23/hr, depending on qualifications.
  2. May Elect 1099 or W2.
  3. Must be willing to travel, have physical strength, able to stand, walk, bend, and/or kneel 8+ hours a day. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  4. Endurance must be able to work outside in heat /cold/all weather conditions.
  5. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all employees at all levels in the workplace.
    Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, replacement or repair work as it relates to the maintenance and preservation of the real estate.
  6. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
  7. Frequently works around live systems and other utilities during hand-digging functions to locate utilities. This position exercises due care in protecting the property, the general public, and coworkers.
  8. Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools for proper working order. Understand the proper use and maintenance of hand tools.

Capable of working on a team, receiving and following directions.

  1. Possess a basic knowledge of materials used in reservation/rehab/maintenance work. Performs necessary/needed tasks by self or as directed.
  2. Understands the basic concepts of equipment setup.
  3. Understands excavation and shoring requirements.
  4. Understands when to wear personnel protective equipment.
  5. Able to identify different types of hazardous materials while performing maintenance work. Does all other related work as required to complete the job.
  6. Must be able to follow company safety rules and all other company policies. Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, and carry heavy loads.
  7. Must have reliable transportation.
  8. Must be able to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings, and other surfaces. Conscientious with great attention to detail.
  9. From time to time the job requires the use of protective equipment such as hard hats, respirators, aprons, gloves, special clothing, safety shoes, safety glasses, and other necessary PPE.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responds to work orders, resident requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  2. Perform carpentry work, such as fitting doors, freeing windows, replacing and building shelves, sanding and refinishing floors, as well as exterior and interior painting.
  3. Assist in custodial and grounds work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, etc., in common areas.
  4. Assist in move-in and move-out inspections and assist the Maintenance Manager or Community Manager in scheduling annual apartment inspections. Complete the make-ready process of vacant homes as directed by Manager.
  5. Report any maintenance or resident-related concerns to the manager in a timely manner

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs general residential carpentry including building and/or repairing cabinets, doors, flooring, or other wooden fixtures using woodworking machines, carpenter’s hand tools, or power tools.
  2. Determines dimensions and materials required by reviewing project specifications.
    Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  3. Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
  4. Performs minor electrical, plumbing, and/or concrete mixing work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience. At least 2 years of previous residential carpentry experience is required. Experience working with equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts Detail-Oriented. Takes pride in their work and is thorough and attentive to details; goes beyond the expected. Strong working knowledge of job site safety.
  2. Efficient. Comprehends schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and other specifications required Education. High School Diploma or equivalency

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The employee may be subject to one or more of the following atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system from fumes, odors, dust, mists, or gases. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
